Playaz Cookbook
With apologies to world renown and faithful reader, Washington D.C.'s
Chef, the Playaz present to you Bon's famous 'Anti-freeze Sandwiches' for geese:
Ingredients (serves 5-10 geese):
5 slices of white bread
1 gallon of Texaco brand anti-freeze
Ziploc baggie
Steps:
- Take slices of white bread, tear apart and roll into quarter-size balls.
- Drop bread balls into Ziploc baggie.
- At
this point, pour in your Texaco anti-freeze, as much or as little as
you like. Bon prefers to pour a liberal amount to be sure the balls are
tasty when ingested by geese. - Marinate bread balls in anti-freeze until fully absorbed into the bread.
- You are now ready to serve.
Place
the anti-freeze soaked bread balls with a garnish of your choice at the
lakeside bank of your choosing, then "bon" appetit! After the geese
that are ruining your property have devoured these delectable delights,
they will die within a few days.
Well, there you have it. I'm sure your geese will enjoy these treats, and Bon promises you will never be bothered by them again.

They are a plague here, too, Cube, although I derive a
great deal of amusement from Bon's ongoing battle to end the lives of
these geese for doing such things as "eating" and "swimming", and of
course, "going to the bathroom". How dare they!

Do you get relief if your ball rests on a goose body? It's
hard to tell if that's a natural hazard or a man made one...maybe a
club length or something...

Candadian geese have become a problem that plagues the
Washington area, Phil. In the past, they had a long established
migratory pattern taking them further south for the winter. Somewhere
in the past 15 years or so, they decided Washington was "do-able"
during the winter months, and so here they reside.I
can remember as a child driving over to Maryland's Eastern Shore and
visiting the Blackwater Wildlife Refuge to witness the landing of the
geese from the north, including snow geese (white)as Cambridge,
Maryland was one of their stopover points in their journey.http://www.fws.gov/blackwater/Now
you see the geese everywhere. They particularly like golf courses,
cemeteries, and parks: anywhere there is a large, green expansive
grazing area. It's been an interesting change in their evolutionary
pattern...much to the detriment of golfers. I'm waiting for the day I
start seeing them at Starbuck's ordering a soy latte...and it won't be
"to go."

Geese are a menace on the golf course. These tasty treats
