Guv'na receives special phone call while recovering in hospital

Manny (aka, The Guv'na) received a very special phone call over the weekend from an old friend wishing the Guv'na a speedy recovery.

The call reportedly lifted the Guv'na's spirits enough that he managed to empty his bladder without the assistance of a nurse, although rather unfortunately, no bed-pan was nearby.

Due to the nature of Guv'na's gunshot wound, all phones had been tapped for security purposes, and we are pleased to offer you a recording of the phone call.

Listen!

Fantastic. Obviously Larry stays away from the gun play, which is why the Guvna should hang with Larry.

Damn my lack of speakers at work!

Posted by: A_Unique_Alias at November 7, 2005 12:25 PM

Precisely, Wayne. When Larry says "other stuff", he is obviously referring to Unique Alias, and his ilk in Washington D.C.

Somehow though, Larry is not aware of the seriousness of the shooting, thinking that Manny was only hit in the leg, when in fact the bullet narrowly missed his heart.

I have had several unassisted bowel movements in the last day or so, due in large part to Larry's message of inspiration. I also ate a 25-lb wheel of stilton the morning of the shooting, so the good doctors are quite certain a corollary exists here as well. Either way, huzzah!

The Playaz are obviously having a profound effect on Larry's English. The grammer is improving with each birthday and gun shot shout out.

All Hail the Playaz!

I'll drop by with some speakers this afternoon Wayne. Imagine where you work getting wind of your L Holmes link. Down you'd go!

My bad. Unique Alias - you're on your own. Wayne, you're fired!

Posted by: Rob at November 7, 2005 1:44 PM

I have a home remedy ointment I am express mailing to you at the hospital. I guarantee that it will heal your wounds as well as clean out the 4 BBL carburetor in your Trans Am and remove bugs and pine tar from your custom Playaz paint job.

So now I'm home, and I hear that former heavyweight boxing champion of the world Larry Holmes wants to go jogging with the Gov'na . . .

The "other stuff" doesn't take breaks. When you least expect it, expect it, Gov.

Posted by: A Unique Alias at November 7, 2005 9:38 PM

It will have to pass security first, Cat, but I'm sure the Guv'na thanks you, and Tac and his Trans-Am thank you.

And did you all see Larry's serenade to the Guvna on 'But Can They Sing?'

Posted by: dc_cookie at November 8, 2005 10:40 AM

Yes - appropriately, Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On".

Posted by: Phil at November 8, 2005 11:13 AM

I wonder if Larry will call each of the GA Tech players when they're all in the hospital on Saturday evening, you know, after the merciless pummeling given to them by mighty Virginia. I'm sure they could use some cheering up.

Posted by: rcr at November 8, 2005 2:56 PM

I am with you RCR. They might need Larry to sing a song to cheer them up. Maybe "Cheer Up Sleepy Jean".
Larry should win the contest for his suit alone. Only a true Playa would wear that. Larry was soo seductive singing Marvin Gaye. Looking forward to next weeks performance.

I will retain the services of the bands Sum 41, and .38 Special to sing you a song, RCR, as they will give you a sensation you have felt before, but can't quite put your finger on what it is.

Then the Guv'na & I will burn your field. Again.

Posted by: Phil at November 8, 2005 5:09 PM

Sorry. UVA isn't losing this one. It will be my birthday and I'll be at the game. GA Tech might as well forfeit now.

Posted by: dc_cookie at November 8, 2005 6:13 PM

I smell a wager Cookie. Perhaps loser buys some Playa gear. If Virginia wins, then Phil will have to buy you a playa track suit, etc.

Posted by: Bon at November 8, 2005 7:17 PM

Bon, the Guv'na & I are working on "something" that will have a profound effect on the outcome of the game.

It will likely be in the news within the next few days.
