Kenny & Bon to open restaurant chain together
While reading our friend Washington Cube's blog the other day, Cube had pointed out a Kenny Rogers Roasters that had closed down on Route 1 in Washington D.C.
I had to let her know that Kenny was no longer involved with "KRR", and that the franchise was now owned by Nathan's Famous Corporation.
What I could not tell her, until now, is that Kenny and Bon are going into business together to open a Playaz-backed restaurant chain. Kenny and Bon will capitalize on the name of the old restaurant, except it will now be simply known as "Kenny & Bon's Roasters".
The concept has changed slightly. The old Kenny Rogers Roasters was known for it's chicken. The new restaurants will serve Bon's fresh kill of the day. Chicken may still be on the menu, but goose will now be the foul of choice at these establishments.
Below is a sample of the menu Bon has prepared:

Roasted Goose (bludgeoned for tenderness)
Pickled Bream
Bass Burgers
Whale Steaks
Beaver Stew
Bald Eagle (blackened or charbroiled)
Many other selections of wild game and assorted delights
So please keep your eyes open for this new establishment, coming soon!
Per Cookie's request, for a limited time only, there will be several "Kenny & Bon Roasters" shirts available.

Blackened bald eagle sounds nice, too. Yum!
Posted by: A_Unique_Alias at January 6, 2006 10:49 AM
And the Canadian chains will sell Caribou Cutlets?
Posted by: DC_Cookie at January 6, 2006 10:57 AM
I will be needing one of these with a Kenny and Bon's Roasters logo on it...
Posted by: DC_Cookie at January 6, 2006 12:35 PM
Is the bald eagle served...spread?
(I'm really making bad long shot jokes today - check out Circle V. I'm a mess)
Posted by: AsianMistress at January 6, 2006 12:44 PM
It will be served with American Flag sparklers sticking out of it.
Cookie: For a limited time, the Kenny & Bon Roasters shirt.
Posted by: Phil at January 6, 2006 12:56 PM
Did my dear Cookie ever receive her last shirt?

The roasted goose is "bludgeoned for tenderness"?
Didn't Ike say the same thing about Tina?
Posted by: Travis at January 6, 2006 2:12 PM
It is best to "beat it full of flavor" using a Loisville Slugger.

What? No one else is going for the pickled Bream?
Can I get the Kenny and Bon Roasters design on a coffee mug? Plleeeeaaaaase?
Posted by: Saidah at January 6, 2006 3:04 PM
Can I get my whale with a side of dolphin fritters?
I've actually had goose meatballs before - not bad.
Posted by: rock creek rambler at January 6, 2006 3:09 PM
Sa'idah: Yes.
RCR: I sure he would. Bon does have a lot of shark meat left over from his slaughter this summer, so he may try to pawn that off on you.

I didn't realize that "Wayne" was copywrited (according to you on LTA). My apologies. However, was this copywrite taken before 1970? If not, too dang bad, I'm keepin it. If so and you insist on extradition could I please have a job and Ken and Bon's? I love geese but I love to bludgeon even more.
Posted by: WOA at January 6, 2006 3:18 PM
I can say Wayne (the 'real' Wayne) has been around prior to 1970. Plus, we have marketed and sold product under the name "Wayne". We feel that your useage of the name, even though given to you at birth, albeit wrongfully, by your parents, constitutes a copyright infringement and creates confusion to those who know "our" Wayne. We don't want people to think there are other Waynes, and when those Waynes don't live up to the standard of our Wayne...well, you can see where this is headed.
It is possible you could live in servitude to the Playaz, but that may not solve the name issue.
So that is why we respectfully ask you to cease and desist using the name. I will defer any further legal questions to our legal counsel, Wayne (the real Wayne).
Posted by: Phil at January 6, 2006 3:39 PM
We might be willing to discuss you paying us a "Wayne Tax" each year. We will just get the IRS to add another column on your tax return.
Done deal Sa'idah.

Where's the peacock tongue?
Posted by: Washington Cube at January 6, 2006 4:21 PM
Not to worry, Cube. I'm sure that fine delicacy will be available. I couldn't list everything, and keep in mind it is Bon's "kill of the day"...so that could mean anything, literally.
If you request a peacock, I'm sure Bon will go to the local zoo and kill a peacock for your culinary pleasure.

I'm not opposed to servitude...in theory. In theory, communism works...in theory. However, since you insist, I will take any substitute "name" that you might suggest as long as it guarantees throngs of scantily clad women throwing themselves upon my feet and refilling my ice trays. (My martinis have been a bit luke warmish as of late.) And another thing, I've changed my mind about wanting a job at Kenny and Bon's. You'll have to hunt me down or buy my Blazer to get me back to the States. Your choice, my friend. (P.S. If I bought a Playaz hat can you ship to the U.K.? My Hard Rock Cafe Denver hat is getting a bit greasy.)
Posted by: W**** at January 6, 2006 5:16 PM
Thank you Playaz for the mug design. I'll order tomorrow when my computer decides to work properly. I plan on bringing it to work at the liberry.
Posted by: Saidah at January 6, 2006 5:34 PM
Mmmm. Bon really knows how to cook!
Posted by: dcsportschick at January 6, 2006 8:25 PM
Yes, Frank, they will ship overseas.

You truly ARE the Gentlemen Playaz. I don't want just any peacock. I want Michael Jackson's screaming white peacocks. The ball's in your court. I fed you that line. ;)

Lookin good, Bon, lookin' good....

Bon ALWAYS looks good.
Posted by: dcsportschick at January 8, 2006 1:15 PM
So wait..I used to go to the one in crap Laurel when I lived there....will this one change too? Why, I've never eaten goose before.
Posted by: Buggy at January 8, 2006 6:12 PM
No better time to start than the present. Do not fear. There are many other choices in case the delicious taste of goose is not your cup of tea. You should taste my endangered species stew.
Posted by: Bon at January 8, 2006 7:49 PM
What's good for the goose is what's good for the gander. And what's good for the gander is an antifreeze cocktail and a swift hit with a baseball bat.
Posted by: rock creek rambler at January 9, 2006 3:01 AM
I don't think Bon could have said it better himself.
Posted by: Phil at January 9, 2006 9:13 AM
Yep - got my shirt. It looks hilarious. The logo stretches significantly at the bottom over my ample breasts.
Posted by: DC_Cookie at January 9, 2006 11:58 AM
