Tac wins owl calling contest
Tac was recently named the 2006 Owl Calling champion at the recent Owl Festival held this past March.

Tac can call over 132 different owl species. It is said that Tac has a mysterious ability to communicate with owls, a talent that has not been fully explored by the Playaz, but one that may come in handy some day. To hear Tac calling an owl, click here. Tac does not use any man-made instruments in his call - it is strictly his voice.
Mark you calendars for 2007 to attend one of Tac's Owl Calling classes.

Dare I say this....Whooooo would have guessed it?
Posted by: Washington Cube at April 4, 2006 10:08 AM
GROAN.
The loud "thwack" you just heard we me going upside Cube's head...
Posted by: Travis at April 4, 2006 10:21 AM
It reminds of of something I'd read on a children's birthday card or valentine's day card...perhaps you have a future there, WC?
Maybe "owl-themed" cards?
Posted by: Phil at April 4, 2006 10:25 AM
Simply stunning. Tac's talents never fail to suprise me.
Posted by: WOA at April 4, 2006 10:39 AM
I actually have designed cards, Phil, but a tad more sophisticated.
Posted by: Washington Cube at April 4, 2006 10:59 AM
You mean these?
Posted by: Phil at April 4, 2006 11:09 AM
No, Phil. Those were a slap up for the blog day thing.
Posted by: Washington Cube at April 4, 2006 11:20 AM
So we all know who wins the Owl Eating Contest then...
Posted by: I-66 at April 4, 2006 11:24 AM
WC - I would like to see what you're talking about then. If they're anything like the artistry of you Mary Worth/Mark Trail comics, then I'm sure I'll love them.
I-66 - yes, that is sort of stating the obvious, isn't it? In fact, Tac is sometimes forced to talk to owls just to tell them to stay away, in case you-know-who is around.
Posted by: Phil at April 4, 2006 11:27 AM
Who? Who is around?
I'm sorry, Phil, I'm in a whacky mood this a.m.
Posted by: Washington Cube at April 4, 2006 11:53 AM
Are there REALLY 132 different species of owl? C'mon.
Posted by: Marci at April 4, 2006 12:10 PM
Marci - there are over 200 species, believe it or not. Tac is working on perfecting the others.
WC - boy, you really are out of it...Bon, of course. Bon would rely on Tac to call the owls to him so he could capture and eat them. Now, though, Tac has to be careful as a few of the species are on the verge of extinction thanks to Bon.

My cajun blackened Spotted Owl has all the environmentalist wack jobs up in arms, but I will tell you it is one of the favorite choices at Kenny and Bon's Roasters
Posted by: Bon at April 4, 2006 2:46 PM
Having called a few turkey in my day, I know how difficult it is to lure fowl to their deaths.
This post also answers my question as to what happened to all the Spotted Owls in Louisiana Bon. Were the Playaz aware of the Cajun Owl Export Tax? I hope to see a check from you soon.

OK, wait a minute...
You guys used to post items about hanging with celebrities, and now we get posts about a giant robot and owl calling.
Something weird is going on here.
Posted by: Steve Skalish at April 4, 2006 3:33 PM
We still hang with celebs, Steve, but we also want to show you were are regular people, too..just like anyone else. Except we have millions of dollars and own robots and talk to/eat wild animals.
Posted by: Phil at April 4, 2006 3:39 PM
This is what the French artistocrats called "Nostalgie de Boue," Steve. They liked to play at being common people, Marie Antoinette as milk maid, etc. And the translation? "Nostalgia for the mud."
Posted by: Washington Cube at April 4, 2006 3:46 PM
Thank you for explaining it to the commoners for us Cube.
Posted by: Bon at April 4, 2006 4:10 PM
Vous etes en prie, Bon. Translation: Welks.
Posted by: Washington Cube at April 4, 2006 4:11 PM
Congratulations to Tac on his achievement!
Posted by: Buggy at April 4, 2006 9:02 PM
Bon, have you perfected the recipe for "Owl Fangers" yet? I can't wait to see those on the Kenny & Bon's Roasters menu...
Posted by: Guvna at April 4, 2006 9:56 PM
I see...
Your attempts at being one of us peasants are much appreciated.
Perhaps one day you will throw me a bone and invite me to a State of the Playaz Address so I can meet Kenny Rogers and enjoy your life for one day. That's all a guy like me asks for.
Speaking of which, I was expecting a post on Kenny's appearance last night and tonight on American Idol.
Posted by: Steve Skalish at April 5, 2006 11:12 AM
Yeah, Playaz. How about that? Kenny on American Idol. Let's see it. :)
Posted by: Washington Cube at April 5, 2006 11:22 AM
That is correct, Steve. Unfortunately, we can't be there as we have more pressing matters at hand. You will see in tomorrow's post.
I do encourage everyone to tune in to Kenny's performance tonight. He is looking better than ever these days.
Posted by: Phil at April 5, 2006 11:32 AM
Correct on both counts Phil. I am polishing my brass knuckles for tonights mission, and Kenny looks uterly striking, as usual. No wonder the ladies are always begging for more.
