Friday night's all right for fighting

Every Friday night, the Playaz challenge all-comers at the Gwinnett Arena to combat the Playaz, mixed martial arts-style (sponsored by the UFC).

Each challenger is given a full 3 rounds to try and defeat us. No one has made it past the 1st round.

It helps keep us on our toes and ready for any unexpected assaults on the streets, as there are many who seek to destroy us.

Of course, we are undefeated.

Wayne's the man.

I can't tell on the first picture, but is that Phil giving the high leg kick to the shoulder? Impressive.

Y'all don't do that Greco-Roman Wrestling bullshit, do you? There's no honor in getting someone into a hold on the ground and then pressing your groin into them until they get so squicked out that they have to concede.

Posted by: AUA at May 26, 2006 12:58 PM

Yes Steve, that is me. I am very flexible.

No AUA - none of that "getting into the submissive position". Just lots and lots of round-house kicks to the face.

Posted by: Phil at May 26, 2006 12:59 PM

Oh damn, no Greco-Roman. I was hoping to see the Playaz covered in oil and rolling around in thongs.

Does Wayne get pedicures? He has nice feet.

Posted by: DC_Cookie at May 26, 2006 2:46 PM

It's good to see that the Playaz keep in shape AND kick ass at the same time.

Also, I'm late paying my taxes, does Wayne deal in tax law or can I just pay him to beat the IRS into submission?

Let me in the ring too! I am ready!

The Gwinnett Arena--as in Button Gwinnett? Surprising though it may seem, The Gal knows her suburban Atlanta history.

You are right, RG.

We Georgians are very creative at naming things. This arena, located in Gwinnett County, we decided to dub "Gwinnett Arena".

We also came up with the name "Georgia Dome" (located in Georgia).

Posted by: Phil at May 27, 2006 9:58 PM

Phil, don't forget Georgia Gwinnett College, a college located in Gwinnett County, Georgia.

Posted by: Wayne at May 29, 2006 11:41 AM

You guys are so buff. How many hours to you spend training?

Posted by: Natalie at May 29, 2006 12:13 PM

Wayne - You are correct. There is also the former Braves stadium, Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium, located in Atlanta, Fulton County.

Natalie - We can burn off fat with copious amounts of cocaine and comet dust within a few days...then we let ourselves go for the rest of the week.

That's a big....belt.

Equally intriguing is that Stone Mountain Park is located in Stone Mountain, GA.

We broke the mold though with Hartsfied (Alan) Jackson Airport. Atlanta Airport was already taken I guess.

Posted by: Rob at May 30, 2006 12:13 AM

Don't forget the newest attraction, the Georgia Aquarium, which is located in Georgia.

Posted by: Guvna at May 30, 2006 7:57 AM

Actually Rob, it was the Atlanta Airport until the 70s when former Mayor Hartsfield died, and thus became the Hartsfield-Atlanta Airport.

We miss you, Maynard
