Proof that Bush reads Playaz Ball

For those of you who may doubt Playaz Ball's reach...

"Bush uses The Google"

Mom said it first....

I've always loved that comment from your mother. So much so, that I incorporated it into my own slang and passed it on to friends. You can't say The Playaz' (and their Moms) aren't trendsetters with a finger on the cultural pulse.

I know this is where I first heard The Google.

Posted by: Kathryn at October 26, 2006 11:51 AM

I too use the phrase 'The Google' and it came from the Playaz. (Or more correctly, from Phil's mom.)

Posted by: Wayne Ordinary American at October 26, 2006 4:46 PM

I, too, first learned of The Google here, and like Cube readily incorporate it into my vernacular.

Thanks Playaz Mom!

I guess now it's only a matter of time before he uses "The Dust," given his history and all...

Glad to hear it, everyone.

When pressed further about his choice of music, I hear Bush said "I particularly like the Rock and Roll, and I love listening to The Led Zeppelin".

Posted by: Smokin Steve at October 29, 2006 10:15 PM

More precisely, I believe Bush stated he liked the "rock, and or, the roll".

Honda has received a flood of orders for the newly redesigned Fit in the two weeks since its launch. That's a good thing for Honda in its home market, where its sales have been flagging. Instead of the projected 12,000 Fits per month, there have been 20,000 orders for the roomier and more efficient Fit since its announcement. The deluge of demand for the new Fit could help Honda take over the top spot as Japan's best selling car, toppling the Toyota Corolla. It's important to note, however, that in Japan, new model announcements are routinely...

The investment house said it has cut its 12 month price target for the insurance company to 40.42 Hong Kong dollars from 46 dollars, while lowering its earnings forecasts. "We expect that while its first year regular premium business continues to demonstrate strong growth, the overall slowdown in investment/deposit type investments will continue to provide a strong headwind to top line premium numbers," said Citigroup analyst Bob Leung. Citigroup cut its full year 2008 net profit forecast for the insurance company to 26.8 billion yuan, down 4.6 percent from a previous forecast, and lowered it 2009 profit forecast to 32.7 billion yuan, down 21 percent against a previous projection. China Life's 2007 net profit is...

There are no miniature golf courses in San Francisco or anywhere on the Peninsula north of Redwood City. There are no miniature golf courses in Oakland, Berkeley or any other place in northern Alameda County. There are no miniature golf courses in Marin County. The South Bay, where people of refinement still live, fairly bristles with miniature golf courses, but up around the Golden Gate nada. I wanted to take Alice miniature golfing. I had taken her mother and her aunt miniature golfing when they were Alice's age, and I wanted to continue the family tradition. Fortunately, I was able to use that World Wide Web thing to locate Golden Tee Golfland in freeway close Castro Valley. What a wonderland. Two 18 hole courses, well maintained, with windmills and spooky houses and waterfalls and fountains and the ever popular hole in the top of a hill configuration, where endless putting might occur were endless...

1 that would require the SBA to report how much its borrowers grew as a result of receiving the government guaranteed loans. A recent Government Accountability Office study concluded such a measurement was needed in order to determine how well the SBA was meeting its goal of helping small businesses succeed. The SBA has measured its loan programs based on how many loans it makes a measure of output, not outcomes, according to GAO. Sen. Tom Coburn, R Okla., said the programs clearly benefit the banks who participate in them, but "we don't really know" if small businesses benefit "until we get metrics." An SBA...

Volkswagen is among the initiators of this alliance. The project was presented today during the Innovation Congress in Berlin with the theme "One Year of High Tech Strategy New Perspectives for Germany" initiated by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research. The alliance for innovation among the companies BASF, Bosch, Evonik Degussa, Li Tec, STEAG Saar Energie and Volkswagen took the opportunity to suggest a common start on a lithium ion initiative to the Federal Minister for Education and Research, Dr. Annette Schavan. The goal is to increase substantially the energy and performance density of the batteries and to accelerate the possible use in production. Dr. Juergen Leohold,...

I have never been much in favour of online shopping. The idea that the ancient physical delight of strolling the marketplace or bazaar and taking in its sights and smells might one day be replaced by clicking and dragging from a desktop is one I have always found more repugnant than convenient. But that was before I found out aboutWhat is Etsy? If you ask its founder, 27 year old Brooklyn based Rob Kalin, Etsy is "a childhood word from a Fellini movie" that he chose because "it embodies the curiosity of imagination" (the naughty Kalin has also playfully told the press that Etsy comes...

24 Connecticut upset fifth ranked Stanford 2 0, eliminating the host Cardinal from the NCAA women's soccer tournament. The Cardinal (15 3 5) were looking to advance to the final eight of the tournament, but instead the Huskies (14 5 2) will be playing for a spot in the final four. They will face Florida State next weekend. The Cardinal made a second Sweet 16 in a row. The six Cardinal seniors depart after compiling 53 wins in their four seasons on the Farm. "It was just a weird game," said Stanford coach Paul Ratcliffe, whose team outshot UConn 12 7. "I felt like we dominated the first half and Connecticut just was able to convert (its) two scoring chances. "I am so proud of the players (who) are moving on from this program, they are such great people." Men's soccer: Andrew Wiedeman scored off a...
